Pepijn Schoenmakers

2025/10-

Ph.D student

Paris Cité University

After a bachelor's degree in cognitive science (Université Lumière Lyon 2), Pepijn completed a master's degree in cognitive science (ENS-PSL, Paris-Cité), during which he gained research experience on several topics at the intersection of neuroscience and cognitive psychology.

During his first year of his master's degree, he worked on mindwandering and its modulation using non-invasive stimulation techniques at the ICM (Frontlab). He completed his final master's research internship at the LNCO of the EPFL, where he studied the influence of bodily signals and motor activity on autobiographical memory using an experimental paradigm combining virtual/augmented reality and various imaging techniques (EMG, MEG).

Pepijn joined LaPsyDÉ to complete his doctorate under the supervision of Dr. Wim De Neys. His work focuses on logical intuitive reasoning and how it generalizes to other fields, particularly in science.
