Arnaud is full Professor of cognitive neuroscience at the University of Paris, member of the Institut universitaire de France and researcher in the laboratory of developmental psychology and child education (CNRS, Sorbonne, Paris). He is also coordinator of the University Diploma (DU) 'Neuroeducation' of the Université de Paris. He completed a PhD on brain and cognitive development at the Frédéric Joliot Hospital Service (CEA, Orsay) from 2000 to 2003 with an in-doc at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI, McGill University, Montreal) in 2003. He was then postdoctoral researcher at the 'Imaging and Psychiatry' lab (INSERM, Maison des Adolescents, Paris) between 2003 and 2009 and at the 'Center of Psychiatry and Neurosciences' (INSERM, Sainte-Anne hospital, Paris) between 2009 and 2011 before being recruited in 2011 at Unversité de Paris Descartes.

Arnaud's research aims at deciphering the neurodevelopmental basis of cognition. He is interested in the interactions between early constraints (fetal brain development, genetic factors) and the mechanisms of late neuroplasticity in children and adolescents on normal cognitive development (learning) and pathological development (psychiatric disorders). His studies use an integrative gene-brain-behavior approach.
