Julie rejoint le LaPsyDÉ en tant qu’Ingénieur de Recherche en Biologie humaine en 2012 où elle est responsable de la plateforme EEG haute-densité installée en Sorbonne. Elle intervient dans les projets de recherche du laboratoire au niveau de la programmation des expérimentations, du recrutement des enfants volontaires dans les écoles parisiennes, ainsi que dans la formation des doctorants à l’analyse des données électrophysiologiques. Elle a obtenu sa thèse de Neurosciences portant sur les corrélats électrophysiologiques de l’intégration multisensorielle au cours du développement normal et dans l’autisme dans l’unité INSERM U930 "Imagerie et Cerveau" à Tours.
Elle a ensuite réalisé un Post-Doctorat à The Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Canada) dans le laboratoire de neuroimagerie fonctionnelle dirigé par Margot Taylor. Ses recherches ont porté sur l’étude des fonctions exécutives (inhibition et flexibilité) chez des enfants et adolescents sains ou avec un trouble du spectre autistique, au moyen de la MEG.​
